About the Course

The larynx or the voice box is the unique structure which acts as a voice box and also is a part of airway. The location, extent and the structural components present in the wall of the larynx has been discussed. Cartilages forming the wall of larynx have been enumerated with their histological types. Fibroelastic coat of larynx has been described. The joints of the larynx, their type and their movements have been described. The cartilages of larynx frame the skeleton of larynx, the membranes, ligaments and soft tissue is attached to them. The thyroid, epiglottis, arytenoid and cricoid cartilages are described.
