About the Course

Pneumonia is an acute respiratory illness. It is a major cause of out-patient visits, hospitalization and death. The disease presentation can range from mild cases that can be treated on an outpatient basis to severe forms needing intensive care. An early diagnosis and determining the appropriate level of care are crucial for enhancing patient outcomes. This 4-lesson module will help you recognize the diverse presentations of pneumonia, distinguish different types of pneumonia through a thorough evaluation of patient history, physical examination, and relevant diagnostic tests. It will guide you to implement appropriate antibiotic stewardship practices in managing pneumonia, ensuring the correct choice of antibiotics, proper dosing, and treatment duration.
