About the Course
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is a technique that induces seizures, which by various mechanisms of action, acts on improving symptoms of psychiatric disorders, like depression, schizophrenia, catatonia. ECT is given under the effect of general anaesthesia and muscle relaxant. The course describes the history, mechanism of action, indications, contraindications, therapeutic procedure, and electrical aspects of ECT.
