About the Course
The cerebral cortex is the highest center of the nervous system and is most developed in human. It is responsible for controlling emotion, mood, behavior, motor activities and sensory modalities of the body.
In this module, we will be discussing in detail about the three types of functional areas present in the Cerebral Cortex: Motor Areas, Sensory Areas and Association.
The Motor Cortex is further divided into Primary motor area, Premotor area, Supplementary motor area and Frontal eye filed, of which we shall learn more about the topographic localization of the functional motor areas, its connections, blood supply and functions, and also the clinical anatomy relevant to it.
The Sensory Cortex includes functional localization of the various sensory areas in the cerebral cortex, functional aspects of the sensory areas, vascular supply of the sensory areas and the applied clinical importance.
