About the Course

Purpose: The Health Management Information System (HMIS) helps improve the process of decision making and enhances the efficiency of actions required in managing any health programme or activity. Eventually, it will be mandatory for the doctors at district and sub-district level to develop an insight of this system.  Time: Four and half hours Author: VK Tiwari, Professor and Nodal Officer for the Centre for the Health Management Information System (HMIS) and the Mother and Child Tracking System (MCTS) at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi. Prof Tiwari is also a member of the Working Group for Public Private Partnership in the Planning Commission of the Government of India. Prerequisite: It is advised to start this unit after completing the first six units (c1_u1 to c1_u6) on the ‘management course’ of the Professional Development Course (PDC).
