About the Course
Purpose:
This unit gives an overview of intra-sectoral and inter-sectoral convergence in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) programme. It describes the relationships among various departments within the health department and also with other sectors related to health. It then discusses at length the ways of convergence.

This unit should be completed after completing Course 2 Unit 7.

At the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Define the concept of inter-sectoral convergence and various other terms used for convergence in healthcare
- Explain the roles of various departments related to the health sector
- Describe the mechanism or linkages for coordination amongst various departments.
- Outline the role of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) and community participation in healthcare
- Illustrate the strategies for addressing malnutrition through inter-sectoral coordination
