About the Course

Purpose:

This unit provides anoverview of gender and equity issues in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). It describes key strategies employed to incorporate gender and equity in all aspects of healthcare including planning, supervision, data collection, monitoring and evaluation.

Prerequisite:

This unit should be completed after the completion of Course 2 Unit 6

    At the end of the unit, you will be able to:

    a.     Differentiate between sex and gender

    b.     Discuss health and healthcare issues from a gender perspective

    c.     Incorporate gender and equity issues in all aspects of healthcare including planning, supervision, data collection, monitoring and evaluation
